Hardy Perfect Wide Spool Reel 3 1/4"A nice Hardy Perfect Wide Spool reel, 3 1 4" set up for RHW. A scarce pre war model in a highly desirable size. Duplicated Mark II check. Nice leaded patina and the reel is tight with very little wobble. No Agate. Brass ribbed foot. The only issue here is that there is a repaired crack in the frame opposite the tension adjuster, though it does not adversely impact the reel's mechanical function. For sale here is a 2 1/2â" diameter Hardy Bronzed Crank Wind reel from the early 1890s with nicely waisted crank handle and tapered

The butt cap is maker-stamped with the serial number

It's easy to surmise why the second mid was made

The reel and spool came as a set from Abel and are completely compatible with one another
