Signed and dated 1771. Executed on Villedary watermark laid paper, some old mount staining and edge repair all to no real detriment. 37 by 26. 5 cms. Grose was an English soldier, antiquary, draughtsman, satirist and lexicographer. Although prolific in his lifetime few works by him survive.
