Eastern Columbia BuildingIve wanted to draw this view for as long as Ive been working on my Los Angeles series, just look at it, its breathtaking. Im obsessed with the Art Deco tiles set against that bright blue pool. I havent been able to visit myself (its private residences), so it remains firmly on my bucket list. Someone once told me floaties arent actually allowed in the pool, so I took a bit of creative liberty there. Thats the beauty of drawing these places, I get to

I’ve always loved the facade of this building

and each visit I seem to find a new favourite

and I hope they managed to see this little tribute to their home

I brought my favourite hat along

and the musicians were just unbelievable

Although stepping out into Downtown Los Angeles isn’t the most glamorous introduction to the city

from the Stahl House to the Hollywood Bowl

and I knew instantly I had to draw it

I mean it’s the Chinese Theatre

but didn’t get the chance to draw it until a few years later

frozen in time

City Hall was once the tallest building in Los Angeles and stayed that way for decades due to height restrictions in the city
