Hardy Brass Face Perfect 2 1/2" 1896 CheckFor sale here is very rare brass face Hardy Perfect wide drum fly reel 2 1 2" diameter with the early 1896 check. Full length original foot. Ivory handle spins freely. Stamped "1" throughout. As seen clearly in the photos, the reel has been repaired inside a new spring was remounted, as many of the springs on these early check reels were very fragile and broke. The repairs are very functional and the reel works great nice, tight reel.

The varnish is in very good condition with a few light bag impressions and chips

black at the ferrules

but can be easily switched to left

The reel features a Bickerdyke-style line guard

The ferrules are wrapped in a transparent amber
