1960s Womb Lounge Chair and Ottoman, Model 70L and 74Y, by Eero Saarinen for Knoll in New Black Leather UpholsteryThis is an original Womb lounge chair and its accompanying ottoman, models 70L and 74y, designed by Eero Saarinen for Knoll in 1948. This example was manufactured in the USA in the 1960s. The piece features a seat that is formed of foam covered molded fiberglass, and it has tubular chromed steel legs. It has been newly upholstered in a rich black leather by one of the few upholstery shops in the US known for this work. The chair measures 34 inches

This is an 'Alta' lounge chair
The walnut is in very good condition and has been freshly oiled
though suiting different functions
Note the table base is in great shape shape with average wear
This bench along with a number of pieces came from an iconic brutalist government building in Mississippi
One or two of the glides were missing
The leather shows some patina
This chair was designed by Nelson in 1955
a depth of 23
